Check The Label! Boycott Israeli Dates

This Ramadhan, Friends of Al-Aqsa has launched the Boycott Israeli Dates campaign. While Muslims in Europe prepare for Ramadhan, Israel prepares to flood the European markets with dates from Israel which enrich its economy with millions of pounds each year. Many Muslims are unaware of this and unwittingly purchase Israeli dates, thereby supporting the Israeli economy and its occupation of the Palestinian people.

‘Desparate for Justice’ Campaign

The Muslim Student Council organised an Ashura Awarness Campaign in January 2009 which aimed to raise awareness about the oppressed and to represent the true image of Islam; that of a progressive civilisation founded on Freedom, Justice and Love, following the ‘Thirsty for Justice’ campaign the previous year.

‘Thirsty for Justice’ Campaign

As part of the Ashura Awareness Week 2008, the ‘Thirsty for Justice’ campaign was undertaken at several universities. The aim of the campaign was to portray the message of Imam Hussain (as) in its true light as a mission for humanity.
The campaign raised awareness of the state of inequality in the world with particular attention to the 1.2 billion people suffering from inaccessibility to safe, clean drinking water resulting in widespread disease.
Undertaking this week-long campaign with a strong marketing strategy at several universities increased the effectiveness of portraying this message …
